Words and media for your equestrian brand

BETHANY STONE
HOW I WORK

You have a product or service for everyday owners wanting the best for their horse. I’ll help you reach them.

Since 2017, I’ve written for the UK’s most popular equestrian magazines for real horse owners eager to learn and put their horses first.

These owners commit to doing and being better for their horses every day. They’re not after quick fixes and workarounds and they don’t cut corners.

They’ve come to know that being the best owner means investment, whether that’s time, effort, cash or all three combined. These owners don’t rush in’ they think carefully about their decisions, purchases, and where they get their advice from.

I’ve just described your customer base, right? Spooky. I know your market well, not just because I’ve spent nearly a decade writing for them, but because your market is me.

In brief, my experience encompasses:

  • Writing features for the most-read equestrian magazines in the UK, including Horse & Hound, Your Horse and Horse&Rider

  • Crafting high-performing Instagram and TikTok posts to support campaigns, in-person creation at events or repurposing the written word in short-form video format

  • Creating fully SEO-optimised digital features targeting horse owners and leisure riders

  • Producing extensive collaborations with brands and world-class riders for written pieces and video content

  • Providing voiceover and directing in front-of-camera interviews

Working with Bethany Stone means:

  • Finding a true collaborator and facilitator – whether you have a concrete vision that just needs bringing to life or require an industry-literate equestrienne to help forge a path to content that converts, I’m your gal

  • Harnessing a genuine, experienced and intensely horse-wise voice that will always be AI-free and optimised not just for your Google ranking, but your readers’ enjoyment

  • Investing in a real writer with a sharp and polished technique, gained over 100s of 1000s of words published

  • Complete cost transparency and generous readback time – any changes you raise within five working days are actioned for free

“I have commissioned Bethany Stone to write a number of features on varied topics. Her articles are always well structured and thorough, and she has a lovely style and flair in her writing that lifts her work above the norm. Always engaging and a pleasure to work with! ”

ABOUT ME

I’m Bethany Stone, and as a professional writer and lifelong horse girl, I’m living my inner child’s career dream.

Studying English and gaining a first-class degree from the University of Nottingham gave me the skills to hit the ground running as a writer. My first role was as a reporter for a newspaper local to my home in Lincolnshire before I dived headfirst into joining the Horse&Rider magazine team, where I stayed for four years.

After a brief stint as a paralegal – during which I began freelancing for YourHorse magazine – I returned to my absolute passion in life: writing about horses. I landed a role with the gold-standard equestrian magazine, Horse & Hound, in early 2024 and continue to operate in the team on a part-time basis.

Always hungry for a challenge, I’ve hit so many milestones over the last decade. From running shoots to interviewing the best riders in the world, and from seeing my work in the country’s most prestigious magazines to creating videos that attract millions of views, I have so much pride in my work – and a relentless drive to keep achieving.

Outside of work and horses, I’m a keen reader, language learner, netball player and hiker. I’m mum to Pip (a 16hh warmblood x cob) and Marco (a miniature schnauzer) and am based with my husband in Hertfordshire.
